Brampton Parents Arrested with Gun and Drugs

PP-20132013 Photos13-039 gun 2The Peel Regional Police Street Crime Gang Unit have concluded an investigation that resulted in the arrest of two parents.

Reginald WALKER 37 years old was arrested by investigators for possession for the purpose of trafficking marihuana. A short time later, his wife Shirlene RUSSELL 29 years old was arrested in a vehicle in Brampton that had been stopped by police. A loaded .45 calibre semi-automatic handgun, along with ammunition and drugs were located in her possession. Her two children, aged 6 months and 18 months were also in the vehicle at the time of the arrest.

Several search warrants were later executed at locations in Brampton that resulted in the seizure of more drugs, drug paraphernalia, and cash. In total, 2.5 pounds of marihuana was confiscated.

WALKER and RUSSELL, both of Brampton, have been charged with over 20 drug and firearm related charges. They have been held in custody pending a Special Bail Hearing for Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
