Peel – The crime prevention experts at Peel Regional Police are proud to once again offer the highly successful one day seminar based on the Cyber Academy, for any interested residents of Peel. The seminar will take place on Saturday, June 9th, 2012 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and will teach parents, educators and other professionals how to avoid the risks of cyber-bullying, social networking and on-line luring. Space is limited to one hundred seats and is on a first-come/first-served basis. There is no cost for this event.
Lectures will include:
“…at the click of a mouse…” cyber-bullying using digital mediums.
Social networking; is there an expectation of privacy on the net?
“Do You Know Where Your Children Are?” can you trust the internet? How cyber-paedophiles target/identify/track young victims on-line.
…and more.
Due to some of the subject matter, this academy is available only to those who are eighteen years of age or older.
